My poor country : My Rich India

I do Know
its not the richest in the world
its roads are broken
its fields are still ploughed by hand
it has most poor people of the world
it can not house all its guests
it can not feed all its children
it does have zillion problems
its not a perfect world nor it may be

it hallucinates me
it depresses me
it disheartens me
it deceives me
it pains me

even after knowing that
I still love my poor country
land of my seeds
land of my dreams
land of my beliefs
land of my hopes
land of my past
and land of my future

and yes
I do know its too old
its wrinkles are not very shapely
its parched thirsty lands
are waiting for monsoons
its flooded villages are
are drowning in the ground
its huge lines are hungry and oppressed

I still love my India
despite all its blemishes
despite all its darkness
despite all its deficiencies
despite all its failures

I love it irrevocably
if I have to give my meaningless life for it
I will give it with a smile
because it is mine !!
