India is a secular country, right? Why is is subsidizing lakhs of muslims to fly to Jeddah every year, at a heaviliy subsidized rate? It is the tax payers money which is used for this purpose. Hindus dont get such privileges, nor do other minorities. Isn't this a shame?"
Actually, it's a joint venture between the governments of India and KSA. Last I recall, after landing in KSA and showing papers from the Haj committee from India, the authorities there issue you some funds which is supposed to take care of your daily expenses there.
And a good % of the funds from our side aren't generated from the treasury and taxes but from a pool of donations given by industrialists who belong to the Muslim community. I know the Haj Committee in Chennai enough to certify this. You can approach them directly and request for an officially certified white paper as well. A good majority of them own bldgs in Saudi Arabia too and the pilgrims from India are given rooms in such bldgs. Even religious places in India such as Tirupathi operate in an almost same way.
So- where's the element of shame here??? ?? ?

I 'm surpised to see how ill informed this 'Mr.handsome' is!!All N.Indians die for,Rekha Hema malini, Ash and SreeDevi.
