When shall we move from Jurassic park era to the next one?
Indian administration is still an exact copy of sarkari babu elitist force which clever British installed. Nothing substantial has changed! English Sahibs were replaced with Desi Sahibs.
Most of these sahibs are accountable to public and responsible for poor progress of India on all fronts. We are told that we have done great and we are much better in these 50 years yet the truth is that we have done nothing structural nor there is any change in the attitude.
There is no social justice, we are trapped in mystical interpretations of economic systems, fake songs of vote based democracy and illusionary progress on the 5 year plans. We are one of the poorest countries of the world with the largest population of people below the lowest poverty line. We dont have any modern city management, transport and roads are pre-historic, our ports are the most congested, our cities are unlivable, 65% people drink absolutely unpotable water, our judicial system is burdened under piles and piles of unresolved cases for decades.
We have been unable to check the social violence, social unrest, communal tension, religious harmony and failed miserably in dealing with all our neighbours.
We love to chant wonderful songs of achievements yet the truth is we are unable to accept the reality.
India lives in TOTAL DENIAL.
Even our media is a circus and they claim to be open and independent yet they are unable to expose the reality.
Our political system may sound democractic but it needs a total overhaul.
We need to change our attitudes, educate ourselves more, know the reality, and avoid falling into the traps of disinformation.
India is a chaos and we need to recollect our engergies and bring about a true social change. To start that we must start with ourselves first. We love to counsel, guide, advise and preach but we do not like to listen!
We must listen now in order to survive with its 1000 million people.
In place of always finding the thin lines between political agendas and administration goals - should not we all focus on main issues and not divert our attention constantly for tiny jestful issues.
At the present speed, we will remain stuck in the Turkish Daftar system of 10th century imposed on us by Sultan's agents, modified by British babus in 19th century. Why cant we be bit more original and listen to Indigenous wisdom and possibly mere logic?
Most of our babus and rajniti experts are lost in insignificant little private and public wars, private ego and revenge issues, scandals based on petty cash, issueless politics - ignoring the responsibility of bringing about a change in a country which is rather moving on its own.
It is a shame that we have made administering India an unmanagable task.
There is no harm in importing good ideas from foreign cultures. We love to sing our songs of Indian heritage and great civilization but when it comes to any personal or real issue we are divided by regionalism, castes, sub-castes, sub-groups and zillions of petty interest groups.
Are there no good people left in India?
Yes there are.
But the "very busy" ones have probably lost their direction and just run on private interest of putting-my-family-in-top-position or let-me-first-remove-my-poverty-n-will-think-about-my-people-later or nobody-cares-so-why-should-i-care attitudes.
There are so many bright people with original ideas but their 'superiors' dont buy them or told to move elsewhere. Anybody thinking of a change or amending the 'old ways' is seen with red eyes and mostly considered a specie apart.
This has not deterred the right people and they are on their crusade. When will they implode the system nobody knows. Few justices of Delhi superior courts have shown some courage and have done extraordinary decisions yet a cumin seed in mouth of a camel wont make the camel shake.
There are thousands of wonderful, educated and intelligent people but the filth of our system forces them to stay away. It is time that we collect our forces and make a different approach. An open approach to resolve the issues.
Let the noble thoughts come from all sides!
Respectfully yours
Pk Kapila
