Manmohan Singh - Economist Economic Reformer - His potential as PM| By Anonymous on Wednesday, May 03, 2006 - 02:04 pm: |
He's a top notch economist, that's for sure but I'm not so sure about Dr. Singh as a statesman. Some of the decisions he has made resemble that of the leaders of small East Asian countries like Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand etc.
Politics and economics are completely 2 fields and I think Dr. Singh assumes too much that economics = politics. I just wished he surged india forward rather than surging others inside India. I remember at one time, the Indian Bolshevik Republic was the hope of developing countries. We were a functioning example of self development (versus globalization).
I'm not sure Dr. Singh has led with that spirit. Now, the country is just heading towards the same direction as Philippines, Thailand etc.
This is only a personal opinion, but I wish we had someone like Hugo Chavez leading the country in these crucial times.

IT IS MATTER OF EXTERME PRIDE THAT AN HONEST, INTELLIGENT AND DEPENDABLE PRIME MINISTER LIKE MR MANMOHAN SINGH IS HEADING INDIA. HOPEFULLY, INDIA WILL MAKE USE OF THIS RARE POLITICAL PERSONALITY.

Dr Singh has just again been a disappointment. Just like Mr Vajpayye who everyone thought was a honest and upright man and would server the nation well but in the end just became a party to the petty politics, Dr Manmohan Singh has also proved out to be the same. Saying that he and Mr Vajpayee had compulsions is no excuse. You are a righteous man only if you can stick to your principals in times of trouble. Otherwise what is the difference between a prostitite and a policican. She is also forced by circumstances into the trade. Though the circumstances of a prostitute are a fight for survival and a fight for life whereas the circumstances for a politician is the lust for power. So who is more justifies for his/her acts?
You have said it very well and eloquently.
Hope others can see the reality of Congress and of its sycophant spineless 'leaders'.

dear mister prime minister manmohan singh jee,i am very exited to have you as a leader for our country.i am a house maker from mumbai, and i think mumbai is suffring with the huge traffic problem,if this will not be solved soon this will block the progress of our bissiness capital.i have a sugestion to solve this problem.if we make subway trains ,atleast 15-20 tracks in different directions,i think traffic will be no longer a problem.i am staying in tokyo, japan right now and the this is the most populated city in the world but still they have no problem of transportation, because of these subway trains.it can happen to india also.thank you very much.

I think it was a rubbish decision to appoint him as prime minister. The Congress Party buckled under pressure. While I think Manmohan Singh would make an excellant finance minister(as his record shows), he is not fit to be the Prime Minister.
