The public media of India and Pakistan is run by a strange mix of owners who have distorted brains, black money of unpaid taxes, a deep desire to keep running the show which keep favoring them and flourishing their business, on one side and some of the most brilliant and intelligent journalists of the world, probably the worst paid for their dedication, for their hard labor, treated very poorly and badly by media owners and the men in governmental authorities, on the other side.
The state owned media is obviously a narrator of the story written by the policy makers of Islamabad and Delhi. Now the story is that in these 52 years, some of the biggest damage and disservice has been done by these media owners and state manipulators, by not telling the whole story, hushing up the truth, maiming and killing the journalists who attempt to say any truth.
Media in both countries has been geared to spread, hate, ignorance, manipulate innocent people's sentiments and to keep exploiting the phenomenon of the huge wall which separate India and Pakistan - this wall is not only a literal wall on the borderline but a very deep psychological wall which has been created by our so called governments, media manipulators, policy makers, horribly egomaniac politicians and of course the shameless history writers.
These elements have actually done their level best to heighten the wall and further watertight it with their constant duel and inbuilt insecurity.
The real issue between Pakistan and India is NOT Kashmir. It is a very old scar, which like a cosmic phenomena started 10 centuries ago and which started ballooning in the 18th century in the times of when the Mughal family in Delhi was being made unemployed by British trading company executives and their British shareholders in England.
The rift was started then.
There was of course a period of several hundred years when Most Indian people lived in fear, constant attacks by invaders, like Nadir Shah, who killed every single living being which came in its way from Peshawar, Lahore to Delhi and Agra.
Most Indian people were peasants, illiterate, living a miserable life and there was left an elite colony of thugs and muggers called rajas, nawabs and baadshahs or other agents of wicked rulers who in todays politically correct lingo will be called atrocious terrorists and evil dictators. These elite looted all the possible income from 96% of the population which lived off land, tiny cottage industries and other survival mechanisms available. This explains why South Asians are so clever in managing a home and family of 5 with 100 dollars a month and still appear as rich.
The Indian masses were presented or considered by foreigners or British as lethargic, pathetically poor, ignorant, dirty rascals and Indian or non-Indian corrupt dictators were their masters. Let me tell you the truth. The Indians were virtual slaves by their own people and or people who came to rule here by sword and trick.
This is authentic and real scene.
Rest all the stories are creations of historians to decorate it because the history; as per recorded in whatever meager ways, has always been paid by these very elite masters. WHO Pays the history writers afterall?
The slaves had no choice. Can a slave vote, choose or do whatever he wants. NO. A slave is just a chained person just an inch better than the animals of zoo which you show off to little kids.
In these times just prior to the British East India Company, a very cunning and insecure man Aurangzeb who slaughtered virtually all his brothers cousins and anybody in his extra extended family, himself, and told his father and sisters to shut up; was mostly accompanied by fanatic religious men who constantly guided this man.
This man didnt know what affection was. The cruel religious bearded men taught him to be merciless, straightforward and they taught him to use sword without any guilt.
This man destroyed the national fabric of Most Indian communities by treating them like flies and he financed a very systematic crush on people which was a mean campaign to change people their faith. In nutshell, he succeeded in creating fear and greed by promoting those who converted and by slaughtering, torturing who did not submit. What was more or less, sustained and born for 600 years of attempts to absorb the so called Islamic way of life by the majority of population, was lost in first few years of this man's rule. He simply undid what his ancestors did. His ancestors were also inhuman and cruel but their public relations department was polished and well paid. Nobody ever came to know their pillage. Aurangzeb was a one man show like Indira Gandhi and Saddam Hussain. Sadistic, cold blooded with immense love for human blood and death.
Unfortunately, on the other hand, in Pakistani text book this subhuman genocide promoter of millions is considered like God's agent and is displayed as truly Pakistani. Go to the official Pakistani govt site and the history of Pakistan starts in 8th century with the first batch of attacks of Arabian Bedouins and not in 1947. These and many other anomalies, show Pakistani planners have manipulated and twisted everything to programme the next generations to live in a self denial. This is a serious psychotic condition. Pakistani Nationalists will hate this fact but anyone with a grown up brain will understand the underlying truth. Just scratch the upper polished layer and the naked truth will be revealed.
Prior to this man in control of India, most of India was living a rather sedate life, enslaved and chained but mentally free. This sedation was based on a forced and coerced coldness and lack of freedom not on the contentment of people. History writers with their total ignorance of human feelings always portray this factor as "due to conforming nature of Hindus". This was not conforming or lost in yogic meditation type of sedation but life of a chained soul without any way to leave the cage.
But this man agonized and tortured Indian population in huge proportions and thus a new chapter of Hate was created between Hindu and Muslim.
Prior to these episodes, there was no 'major' or 'significant' conflict or rivalry among diverse communities and ethnicities irrespective of what they thought. Yes there was a certain resentment towards Muslims, who, came into power before Aurangzeb, only constituting roughly about 4 % or less of the total population.
In 19th Century, British actually exploited this very rift and started sowing their seeds of division. They were not cruel and raw brutes, like Spanish conquerors in Latin America but they unfortunately were supported by the local Indian masters called rajas and nawabs [the princes, amirs, khans, shahs and other pretentious titles] who had a well entrenched old system of controlling their lands by whip, harsh taxes, rape, plunder and Mafia. The exploitation of levy, taxes and tariffs by coercion have kept even today the South Asians to be dreaded by the tax collector figure. Thats the secret of not paying any taxes in Pakistan, Bangladesh and India. The Psyche is hurt and most people are almost genetically hostile to tax collectors even today.
The British, during a major mutiny in mid 19th century, did use this Hindu Muslim divide game quite successfully and thus the hate between two communities started growing exponentially.
From those days onwards, the deep scar became a big Grand canyon size issue and things were never the same.
For last 800 years Hindus - had lived or rather survived more or less a victimized life, as chained and enslaved people who could not be free in their home, who could not erect a new temple, a school or a place for their public gatherings. Most of their ancient rich temples were trampled, destroyed, their treasures ripped, their libraries burned, their cultural identities were crushed and torn apart, their self image, their morale was raped.
The control over Indian population and its intellectual and physical capital, was so psychotic that most people just did not know who they were. The very few, the 3 or 4% of Indian population was in service of the wicked administrators who used the vast bureaucracy to get maximum out of the impoverished and enslaved people. Most people survived by sheer physical endurance. Most died at the age of 40 or 45.
The 3 or 4% elite was the ruling class and among these people more than 70% or more were Muslims for they were favorites of bigger fish of contemporary period.
Thus the top professionals, leaders or mafiiosi and whatever you call, the so called, decent people, were living a kind of good life. Their loyalties were with whosoever was in power. They didn’t care if it was a Turkish Sultan, an Arabian or Irani marauder, a Central Asian descendent of Changez Khan or some Europeans. These people just were following the orders. They just loved a good life at whatever the cost. They were like commission agents who exploit both the buyer and seller. To some extent this trend continues even today.
These same people produced most of the "well known" Indians. Gandhi's father was head clerk treasurer in the court of a small ruler of coastal Gujarat, although they like to say he was a minister. Jinnah's, 3 generations ago was a Hindu Baniya shopkeeper family of Gujarat that adapted Islam as a means to get promoted to get favors. Poet Iqbaal's family from Punjab, 2 generations ago, was a wealthy Hindu Punjabi merchant who was blackmailed and coerced to surrender and adapt a Islamic name. Nehru's father was a Kashmiri pundit whose family was in service of Kashmiri raja.
Bhutto's 3 generations ago gained land by grants for their services and excellent control of slaves.
Most of the today's leaders of Pakistan and India belonged to these elite families who exploited very well their position and sent their kids to expensive schools of France, Germany and England. They were the real Sahibs. They were the masters of the people who governed in effect.
These same people welcomed and embraced the British once their older masters were chained, fired or thrown in jails.
These same people have been running the destiny of South Asia. British were informed, hosted and entertained by these same people. These people were the ones who used to open doors to British and offer them "Nautch girls" and supply an army of forced labour as slaves. Each British man, even the most ordinary or on low level post lived virtually like a prince having a horde of slaves to his service. They competed with Indian Sahibs [lords] on who could exploit Indians more. These British men were happy accomplices of Indian looters. Even if they were not wicked or bad, Indian elite taught them how to be one.
Fortunately came from Britain some sages, noble hearted educated elite, who did try to undo this practice, who did try to help understand the hidden Indian "culture and civilization", covered in dust and poverty.
These same people, call themselves high castes, rich and born leaders. For them most Indians were and are like gone cases, subjects of their lordship or just plain fodder. Because these people have been betraying Indians for not one but 20 or 40 generations.
These are the real bastardized wicked people who keep sucking India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. EVEN NOW. You even know them and see their portraits in media now and then. You still love them, adore them and praise them 1001 times a day. You still consider them wah wah - great leaders.
These same elements are still very powerful and they run governments, media, various ruling families and these people are still fooling people in Bangladesh, India and Pakistan by claiming to rule as their birthright.
When the truth is that these ugly monsters have been nothing but blood drinkers, who side with anyone with any power. These people are real masters of India and Pakistan even today. They will never leave their power ever. Why should they?
Do you think they are ever going to lose their grip? NEVER.
Not in your life time. "Democracy" is a very interesting veil to hide the wicked in a poor society.

The rift in early 1930s was among these 3% elites NOT the 97% of people of India.
The Muslim elite decided to create a state for themselves as they saw that after the Muslim rulership waning in India, and Indian leadership going in hands of Hindus who represented more than 93% of population at that time.
These elite were educated and lived in Europe. Rehmat Ali who coined the word Pakistan was son of a rich Punjabi Muslim who lived in England. Did anyone in Punjab at that time knew what these elite were doing.
NO. They were fueled by exaggerated claims of elite leaders that their life in a Hindu dominated India will be like a hell. They created fear and insecurity. They exploited the rift between Hindu Muslim created by British in 1857, successfully.
Because of weak, docile and self styled leaders like Gandhi, Nehru and Jinnah - all lawyers - that’s I tell you never trust any lawyer - India was divided, hurt, maimed, killed and raped.
YES from Bengal to Punjab the elite insecure animals connived and convinced the British that they could not live together.
Britain had lost its cash in the second world war and the nationalist movements all around Asia, Middle East and Africa were beginning to surface and they feared they could not run their cream of the cream part of empire so they decided to leave, NOT because they wanted to but they just could not afford it nor they could finance the costs of defending their rule. Thanks to the Japanese and German bombers, British were humbled down and finally accepted to go back. British did not back down for Gandhi or Jinnah or all those dhoti kurta clad media icons but for their own home grown problems and a changing global scenario.
They kept listening to these and some other lawyers as I stated and these egoistic sons of elite screwed up the lives of 290 million Indians [that was the population of United India prior to division] from Bengal to Baluchistan and Kashmir to Tamilnadu.
The real damage of separation was obviously on the borderlines.
Millions lost their lives, millions were raped, beheaded, lost their properties and families.
Who paid the price ?
We the enslaved and enchained people of India who continually pump the ego of same elite but in place of 610 tiny rulers and crooks, 3 big nations who can not settle their differences.
WHY ? Because the elite still run the show.
Wait for the transformation process and overhauling in India for another 3 generations which means literally about 60 years only then we will see some change, and possibly 5 generations in Pakistan which will be about 100 years or may be a bit less if there ever is a grassroots based movement to spread the light.
So Pakistani Bangladeshi and Indian people are exactly the same people, exploited and looted as always.
They have all and everything in common. They have been hurt, damaged, torn apart and dodged.
The only difference is that we now have a certain middle class which maintains itself, educates itself with the meager resources provided by our administrations and sarkar.
THE REST of the majority of population is still equal to what 97% of Indian population was during 200 years of British raj or 800 years of tumultuous raj of anybody-who-crossed-the-afghan-border-in-bandit-style with few hundred gangsters.
If you can not understand the coherence of facts stated in a hurry and gist of the matter still you will never understand.
Sorry! Go and continue reading the garbage in the newspapers and feed yourself with the news written by French, British and Americans and editorials written by sick and brain damaged fanatics.
India and Pakistan will keep fighting - in reality - the same descendents of elite - and the rest of us will be used as fodder and fuel to keep their royal game.

Pakistan's tragedy is that these elite have been very cruel and their control is tight.
They run the show completely. The public in Pakistan just survives and the only wise thing a thinking person can do there is to drug on cheap heroin made in open labs in Peshawar out of the zillion hecatares of poppy grown in Afghanistan, or try emigrate anywhere on the earth and send some money back home.
Most Pakistanis are easily fooled by chants of nationalism and when that failed in 1971 and the people saw the cruelties of their leaders, the genocide of great proportions in Bangladesh by an inhuman body of inept and useless soldiers ruled by a few corrupt and drunk generals, the next generation led by Zia uncle, another elite of Punjab, a graduate of Hindu College of Univ. Of Delhi, used Islamic song and drama show which apparently has been mystical, no-questions asked as religion give more fear to Indians than any nuke myth. This has led the talibanization of poor people. Million Little boys and girls in white scarves trying to memorize Arabic verses like humanoids, are never going to be normal citizens by any standard.
The truth however is that most Pakistanis are fed up to their neck with these talebanism and the bearded chanters of Koran. I bet you that most Muslims or anyone in Pakistan is just as liberal and great as any Indian.
IF you try to tell me that this one is better or worse you are fooling yourself.
There is no difference.
In fact Pakistanis are more old fashioned than Indians themselves as the traditions and conservatism in Pakistan is intact.
The kids and generations after 1960s have been brainwashed to chant anti India songs by the elite as that is the best the elite can do to maintain themselves in power.
On the other hand, the cruel truth is that the power of this elite in India has been waning and fading.
If Indian democracy and functioning of our people are left even as they are, by 2030 India will be free of the elite forces which dominated India for 20 or more centuries.
India has been systematically absorbing these elite forces because of heavy dilution and renaissance process started 2 decades ago. India is undergoing huge changes and is identifying itself. It needs to refix its bruised and hurt soul and its projections are to revive the assassinated spirit of India which kept itself in flame even though it was crushed for 1000 years. This process is unstoppable and nobody can destroy it. This is a collective and massive cultural revolution of India, where millions of people every month are upgraded to a new budding middle class.
We do have a large quota of plunderers and looters still in rotten states like Orissa, Bengal and Bihar.
Even guys like Laloo Prasad who rose from lowest to the highest by sheer dynamism of Bihari style democracy where votes are almost pre fabricated by Machine gun holders. Even the so called dalits are having their Eed and Xmas in India as they continue to swell in their positions. These are voices of people who were never heard and now they are making noises and pillaging whatever they can grab. This is more like a sleepy metamorphosis. These new trends will change India in coming times.
Pakistan on the other hand is losing the best of the opportunities, in place of going further in future it has chosen to go back track in history, and their elite leaders are just crook looters who continue to plunder. Look at Bhutto with 300 million dollars stashed in her pocket with her rustic local village idiot husband, aka Mr 10 Percent, twisting his moustache, cutting his veins and bumping his head on the walls in Karachi jails, and in nearby jail cell, Nawaz Sharif with about 100 million in debt and about 50 million invested in other countries is pleading for justice. These guys just got drunk with few days of power because they were not part of real elite.. just upgraded people who rose from dirt. Zardari by marrying Miss Bhutto and Nawaz by massaging the feet of the blown up general.
Nawaz was a crony of Zia uncle and a pleased Zia gave boost to Sharif brothers. Now Mr. Musharraf - another elite, whose 3 generations have been administrators is unfortunately on the wrong track by isolating him and the rest of the population. Someone not very happy will probably revenge on him or he will be treated like Zia uncle in about 11 years or so. The clock of fate is ticking for all. What You do what you get! Whether Nawaz is hanged or not, Musharraf sahib continues in daftar or not, conspiracies by the elite will continue for many years, and in these rassakashi and mumbo jumbo the oppressed public of Pakistan will keep swelling and do the 5 course of reading and asking God to send some wise men to bring an order.
Reason is that no grassroots public awareness system is ever given any chance to survive.
You will be laughing but let me tell you a panicked Nawaz last year banned all Non governmental organizations because he came to know that grass root level work has been going on.
The poor and mistreated Pakistani public is at the mercy of this cruel elite.
80% of money in the Pakistani banks or by Pakistanis outside, is controlled by ONLY 600 families.
That will tell you most if you know what we are talking here. The raw power.
Anybody reading must be very appreciative and supportive of Pakistani people as they are the victims of their own rahnumas. We are treating them badly, by just ignoring them.
They need all sympathy of the world for their lives are still subject to the whims of the elite which ran the show in India before.
Pakistani people are some of the most wonderful people and they are equal to Indians in all respects.
They are talented, nice people with our age-old traditions and what if they are Muslims.
We have more Muslims in India.
Pakistani Muslims are good people but the problem is that NOT all are GOOD Muslims. These harkat ul ansar type of guys, killing, raping, plundering, hijacking planes, mining the bombs, putting explosive devices in every corner of the world, threatening all establised civil societies are nothing but hoodlums and gangsters who will actually end up with Islam soon. The very Bin Laden types being worshipped today will annhilate them. This is the beauty of sweet poison of religions. It kills you without pain. Just wait a few more years and the trigger will be in these elements hands. These are the same people who have looted and plundered Indian communities in past 1000 years since year 711. They are nomads with killing zeal and religion is their shield but their weapon remains the same to mesmerize everyone with the prophetic message and go on doing what they want. Nothing has changed here except the names and characters. Same rules same game.
Their isolated and lost rulers and policy makers are trying to live in dream world by creating a true Islamic state which can only be possible in Saudi or Iran because of the danda force on every corner.
Pakistani people are not like Arabians, Beduins and Persians.
They want to live free, life like anybody else.
They are repressed and stressed people living in denial, made numb by years of suppression.
Their anger and suffering is directed towards India as this is what they have been told.
They have been told since 1947 that India is evil, the cause of their suffering and injustice.
The conditions and ignorance prevailing in Pakistan is equal to what India was in 1700s.
The same scheme of Mughalia sultanate and turkistani daftar and Mullah power systems. It is so easy and safe to scare people with a Clergyman's beard and a book with copyrights in Arabia in hand.
Nothing has changed in Pakistan. Pakistani people are forced to chant anti India songs and they will continue to do so as there is nothing else to do. This provides the longest running show on the earth. 52 years of a soap opera called Kashmir, with daily new feed, new actors and new dialogues. This is the best entertainment for most Pakistanis who have nothing productive to do. This gives employment to many, keeps the elite in power, and make them forget about education, growth or the global economy. These unfortunate or rather fortunate people now believe in bliss with the longest running show on the earth. They dont need any hollywood or lollywood they have kashmirwood giving them great kick. There is comedy, violence and drama. All is free. Why should people think of getting rid of this addiction. They have been told that once they get the rest of Kashmir in Pakistani territorry, Pakistan will be in top 5 list of greatest economies, will be the super power of Islamic world, will become a grand nation which can say we own Kashmir, a great parking space for our kids.
That’s the reason, these bull fight organizers, promote Cricket matches so that people can enjoy the elite scheme of creating an enemy and fight against it. Even sports is used for their secretive mean purpose.
The day Pakistani people and Insha Allah some new generation elite or some other God created force is given a chance to run Pakistan - it will never more be hostile to India or anybody. If by having the best of the lands of the world for 52 years with vast uneploited territorries Pakistan remains one of the poorest nations of the world, what do you think will happen if it annexes few million heactares to its territorry....... NOTHING. ZERO. ZILCH.
The problems will remain the same. They will never change. It will be adding a few more millions to the list of 145 million names. Thats it.
Pakistani public deserve all the best to enrich themselves, to live a better life, to educate their children in Pakistan, without getting crushed by the closed system. The system has been stinking for a long time.
Many of the most intelligent Pakistanis living abroad do see this reality and they are concerned but their resources are too small.
Americans, Chinese or anyone who has any power can control the elite in Pakistan because these are same Indian elite residuals who always submit the first high bidder. They are not interested in the welfare of the majority of people.
They are simply interested to keep themselves in power and provide their families the best of both world which is USA and UK and the rich soil of Pakistan. All these elite live like princes with their glitzy and palatial homes, half of the city is employed by them at 15/20$ per month, their kids travel worldwide, they own apartments in world capitals, they get educated in world class universities, they dominate every single major post of power. They run the show. The rest are just fodder, just there to provide cushion and potential raw material to burn, get killed and maimed in a warfield etc.
The walls between people of India and Pakistan will remain intact and solidly strong, unless there is a serious attempt to overhaul the system and bring about fresh talent and true and deserving representative of its people are given a support system or chance. Education is the only thing most people need with urgency.
So do NOT waste your time fighting over a little piece of land, water or Kashmir valley or Kargill hills.
Its not going to serve any purpose to anyone.
Meanwhile this circus of murga fight of elite goes on , nothing could ever be resolved.
In the end I should tell you all Indians and Pakistanis reading this synopsis that NOBODY in India hate anyone in Pakistan. For sure. They are sure a bit angry for foolish schemes of these teenager brain schemes of grabbing territorries or terrorizing India by the elite. They were angry at the treatment of Indian soldiers who are simple people like all of us and also have sisters, wives, mothers and children like you.
Pakistani people are angry because the national culture and only major preoccupation of media and elite constantly fire their imagination by accounts of fabled past and an Islamic Ram Rajya where there will no interest and all Muslims go straight to Paradise to enjoy this difficult life
I should add here that the new Pak Supreme court ruling that from 2001 no bank will charge any interest is very Islamic but how its going to affect anyone in Pakistan. This law can only function in cash rich UAE or Saudi.
Most Pakistanis cant even go to banks forget about the elite they know all the private bankers in London, NY and Zurich. I have a list of all bankers and their clients.

As an ardent fan of Hindi films I must say that the contributions made by notable muslims in the filmi duniya like Rafi, Naushad, Sahir, Majrooh are very uplifting and to hindus and muslims alike they have shown by their art that true love of God transcends all faith. In so many movies where the producr, director, actor, singer, lyricist and music directors were all muslims but yet they have so movingly protrayed scenes of devotion to hindu God.
Why is this important, because as Hindus we should remember that these artists were trying to bring about unity and for muslims to understand that this is about true love for God and his subjects. God goes by many names but He is one and the only God of all of us. I have many close pakistani friends and when we meet we often ask the question where does this hatred come from? the answer is loud and clear - there are elements in the political parties in both countries that have a vested interest in maintaining the status quo. They thrive on this hatred and the violence that ensues from it. But I am optimistic that as more and more Indians and Pakistanis meet and get to know each other they will realise that they have much more in common and that they share a common destiny. The day this realization dawns on us will be the death knell to those agents of hate (on both sides) who wish to keep the peoples of these two great nations apart.

Hi, i kind a got the mesage you were trying to convey, but do u have a solution to this elite power play problem, like have all countries in the world vote on this issue, or may be ask Pakistanis to give their opinion privately by going to another country, and have their opnion validated to change the Pakistan's elite system. its just an idea, i'm not so sure, i can't even do much, but to wait and see what happens

I think that what is written in the first article is true, because there is no partition in it, but the article goes straight to the problem in which both countries are nowdays. Please read the whole article and think about. Especially people in India and Pakistan. Think very clearly on a neutral way. But I am affraid that any kind of country can't compromise with the Muslims. But why not. Dear Muslims I think you are misleaded in your own religion by some stupid powerseekers who are using you as a weapon for power. Think about it, PLEASE. It is for your own good. And Hindus are being used as wel in India. And you can go on with Cristians and Jews. Why are you guys feeding terror my dears..........Seek peace and not terror. Allah warns every Muslim against speaking without knowledge, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):“And follow not (O man, i.e., say not, or do not, or witness not) that of which you have no knowledge. Verily, the hearing, and the sight, and the heart of each of those ones will be questioned (by Allâh)”[Quran, Surah Al-Israa’ 17:36]
Allaah created man and provided him with the tools for acqruiring knowledge, namely hearing, sight and wisdom. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“And Allâh has brought you out from the wombs of your mothers while you know nothing. And He gave you hearing, sight, and hearts that you might give thanks (to Allâh)[Quran, Chapter: al-Nahl 16:78]
Problem is that whenever there is a topic on Indian and Pakistan, you always get these people who say stuff like, "oh i wish the two countries were just together again," or "we have so much in common, lets end our boundaries."
The fact is that the differences between Pakistan and India are far more than the difference between China or lets say Tawain. Sure much of Pakistan shares a lot of culture with India, but there are substantial differences. Those differences should be respected, otherwise, its a fools paradise.

Dear friends,
I have spent most of my childhood in India and have spent most of my adult life in Pakistan. I am thus in a more of an unbaised position where I can judge both these people.
I cannot fathom why these two nations have been are at each othrs throats. Singapore seceded from Malaysia and Malaysia recognized the little Island nation's right to exist, today these two nations are both counted among the developed countries.
India and Pakistan both have invaluable resources that could have been used for the betterment of thier people, these two great nations could have been among the top nations in the would if we had cooperated and helped each other out rather than keeping a policy of blocking each others progress. Imagine what the people of the subcontinent could have done with the vast amounts of precious resources spent on war and hate.Resources are both can ill afford to waste-considering the millions of people languishing in poverty in both these countries. (though I have seen more poverty in India.)
Both these nations have more in common with each other than does Pakistan with Iran or India with Israel. We speak the same language, eat the same food watch the same movies etc.
War is fine to keep the Pak Generals in control and it is fine to keep fundamentalist in power in India. But it has brought nothing but ruin to these two nations.
WHen I was in India during the congress rule '71-'79 I was not aware of anti pakistan or anti Islamic sentiments. They might have been there but not so overpowering as to affect the ordinary citizens. The sensed of rivalry was evident in cricket and hockey matches and that was fine. Its nice to be rivals in competitions (Though now this rivalry has become so childish that these two nations even refuse to compete with each other-a pity as these two side in any competition have always provided the sport goers with the most exciting games)
I had a lot of hindu, christian and muslim friends and I saw them all as Indians thier religion was not so pronounced as to differentiate them from each other.
Then in the eighties relations became even better between the two countries when with the advent of VCR's Pakistanis were exposed to Indian movies. In India I saw a lot of interest for Pakistani pop music and TV dramas. It was enlighteneing to see these people accepting each other. I wanted very much for these countries to open up to each other, support each other in the world market (like the Asean countries have done. Would Asean have progressed so much if all thier resources were used to kill each other?)
But then came along the fundamentalists(I agree fundametlism is bad for both sides) But the tradegy in India is that Fundametalists have ALL the control while in Pakistan they just control one province.
Then came the killings over Babri masjid and once hate spreads it never really stops as each side vows to revenge the other-muslims and hindus have lived together for centuries, why now that people in the rest of the world seem to be working on eliminating their differences(i.e European Unity)We are searching all the time for differences. By now the 21ist century India and aPakistan should already have been a common market with common interests, and what a market that would have been?
Here in Pakistan hate is not prevalent as much as in India, for as I said earlier the mulla's don't have that much enfluence second their are very little hindus amongst here and they do not pose a threat to the muslims that they should hate them.
Next even now the popularity of Indian channels, music, drama and movies belies the Indian claim that Pakistanis hate Indians. Many teen agers Idolise Indian actors despite the fact they are Indians or hindus. This inspite of the current news programs that keep pouring spiteful propaganda the people just seem to ignore the constant anti-pakistan propaganda. The message here have people accusing Pakistan of hate and then suggesting that all Pakistanis be killed,wiped out etc. Aren't they guilty themselves of what they are accusing othrs of?
Anyway India especially would benefit immensely from better relations Pakistan is one big market hungering for Indian goods. What with all the Indian commercials that they see. And Pakistanis have a much higher buying power than ordianry Indians.
As for KAshmir, My own opinion is that India has alieniated KAshmiris people too much for them to accept being Indian any more but I really don't think they want to be with Pakistan too. They have fighting and dying for freedom why should they present Kashmir to Pakistan on golden platter.
Kashmiris should be free to choose their own destiny, that would be the best solution for India-the conflict is slowly bleeding India and that in itslf is victory for Pakistan, in fact I beleive the power elite in Pakistan may hope it is never solved at all. The longer the conflict drags the more it benefits Pakistan. If Kashmir is freed then Pakistan looses too because they will have to give up their part of Kashmir too. That would be a blow. If they refuse the table will be turned on Pakistan and then India will be helping Kashmiris fight in Pakistan. So in a way Pakistan will loose.
A free KAshmir will be of more benefit to India, it is a landlocked country and will depend on either of these countries for trade but my bet is that a free Kashmir will align with India rather than Pakistan. Even if in the beginning the Kashmiris will want nothing to do with India sooner or later they will realise economic relations with India is better for Kashmir.
I do hope these two great countries sort their problems, the solution is easy it just needs some one bold and with forsight to step ahead and do it. I think the people of botht these countries will want this too. I don't care if Kashmir is with India or Pakistan I care for the innocent civilians and the young soldiers dying there because of some egoistic man at the top.
This senseless stalemate would not reallly carry on like this if people such as Gandhi, Jinnah or Nehru were still in control.
I beleive thier are a lot of Indians out there that share my view. I would be glad to hear from them. Lets work towards a stronger and properous sub continent.

There so much to write about paki indi issue. As in the article it says "both pakis and indiz are insulting each other" It is very true cuz i see on the message board there is a war of offensive words between pakiz and indiz. Sayin •••• about one's religion cant justify the critical relations between pakistan and hindustan. In my opinion,Pakistan is putting its ll effort in make the world sprecificly Asia a Peaceful land for our(indiz and pakiz) future generations. General Musharaf has done a lot to make a Indi Prime minster who is supporting the violence just to get his political position back. Pakistan is always being a Philanthropist Country. I appreciate you all people's words(good or Bad) about each other's religion. But dont forget Iddue isnt the religion, but the Political Position Of Indiz prime Minster in India. Janta is being fool by these political isssues. Indian governement is trying to mislead their own janta by playing with their religious emotions.
