Indian Press & Media
New Delhi is South Asia's principal publishing center; although major cities as Mumbai, Calcutta and Chennai (Madras) are also important publishing points.
India produces about 40% of all dailies in Asia and more newspapers than any country except the United States.
The English Language Dailes, which resemble British newspapers in markup and range of content; are the most solidly entrenched and prestigious. Owned in most cases by large business houses that control a chain of other publications.
The Newspapers in Hindi and other principal regional languages are widely circulated and have very big potential.
The average readership rate in India is much higher than any country of the world.
The news agency field lack resources and structure! We have done nothing innovative in news agency network field.
Indian Radio and TV is primarily state owned and have some of the largest networks and very dense audience. They seem to have moved a few inches for the forced competition!
Private media networks are growing at lightening speed too.
The net media is still very minimal but it has great potential. With the development of fonts in almost all major Indian languages, and the privatization of net services, expanding telephone networks promise a good future for net services.
The private investment is still very negligible in this area.
Despite lesser infra-structural resources Indian media and press is quite advanced in comparison to many countries of the world.
WHEN WILL THE CONTENT CHANGE?
The content and context of Indian media is still very politicised and to an extent, biased.
It appears to be open yet it is not that free.
India has very bright journalists and media experts but is Indian media really FREE? For some strange reasons, Indian media is rather 'infected' with "conservative leftist" journalists and they are stuck in an era which seems to be either surrealistic or 'perhaps' too futuristic for India.
Indian media can possibly play a more important and very strategic role in growth of India. Let us see what is the real picture...We invite your views and suggestions!

Media is sold out in the hands of feminist women's organisation who are intend to ruin the very social foundation of India with their distorted and prejudicial understanding about gender equality.
First, learn what is gender equality and then pursue its objective. Presently, these feminist organisation - in the name of equality - snatching away men's basic rights only to control men which will not be tolerated at any cost. The Media too is supporting their savage and immoral fanatic ideas.
Media, being able to reach out to millions of people, has an express social responsibility towards the betternment of Indian Family. Unfortunately, these media person have lost their self-respect/self-esteem to the hands of these gas-filled, eccentric feminist of India whose objective is to make men their remote control.
This sort of negative and prejudical propagation by feminist is increasing crime, suicides and also killing fetus. These feminist should be kicked out of the Media and people with fair and justified understanding about Equality should be in charge of writing articles, making advertisements, etc for a accurate and authentic news coverage.
